A little paring down

Since I am not going to be checking my Friends list *here* as obsessively as at my new home on InsaneJournal, I'm going to take a few folks off my Friends list here. If you are seeing this, you are still on my Friends list. :-)

I added your blog as a Livejournal syndication. Any of your friends here can now read you on their friends lists by adding mrscountrymouse.

Cool! Um, how does that work with the name being mrscountrymouse ? I went there, but didn't see anything...but could that be because I am not subscribing to it?

Anyway, thank you! :-)

It takes a while for the syndication to pick up the feed, but it will come, just you wait. I assigned the name mrscountrymouse to your new blog at IJ because countrymouse is already taken here on LJ (by you, of course).

Gotcha :)
So what's with InsaneJournal anyway? Just curious...

Well, I've been there a year. I just didn't feel comfortable about the management and their rules here at LiveJournal anymore. Not that I was likely to "break" them, but it felt scary.

InsaneJournal is called that because Squeaky created it for his wife, Insanity. Even though some have wanted him to change the name, he won't, because it was for her. :-)

InsaneJournal uses the same Open Source code as LiveJournal, so it would look very familiar to you. Minus the censorship and we-don't-care-about-you attitude. Squeaky keeps us updated on things he's doing, things he's planning. The first night I went there and read back through some of the older announcements, I knew it was the safe place I was looking for. I bought a permanent account there that very night.

And I've really been getting my money's worth, since last year I completed the Blog365 Challenge (like NaBloPoMo, but for an entire year!). I'm doing NaBloPoMo for January, currently. I've only done a couple posts on the theme for January, Change. But that's optional anyway. Just post every day. :-)

The only thing I am sorry about is that moving all one's archives over to another place, you lose the comments, at least using ljArchive (or is it LJ-Sec? I forget which program does what).
