Handheld PC's?

Any recommendations for a handheld PC?

I am not happy with the weight of my notebook (I'm a tiny mouse). I actually got the browser for the Nintendo DS and enjoyed moving around the 'Net on it, although it is S L O W.

Anyway, I'm thinking about something from HP.

Input, please! :-)

Don't really have any advice, but I am curious to know more about that browser...Gabe has been asking for it and I wasn't too sure about it...is it worth the money?

The DS Browser? For the money, it's fun. But it's SO SLOW. It does come with a memory expansion cartridge that goes in the GBA slot. I had fun going around the Web. I posted here to my LJ from their online form on the DS. :-P And posted to a Yahoo group I'm in.

He might like it. I got mine from amazon.com but you can probably get one at GameStop or someplace. It's $30.

Hmmmm, memory expansion would be nice. We practically live at Gamestop and he bugs me for it every time we go in there, but then when I actually say yes, he changes his mind and gets something else for the same price. We were just in there yesterday..he got $70 for his broken PSP, so he wanted to get it, but ended up with Pokemon Pearl, the walkthrough guide and a really cool DS cartridge type thing where you can load cheats and hook it up to the computer to transfer files and update it and stuff. I may just get it and put it up for Christmas...there are SO many new things (video-game wise) we are going to go broke this year, lol.

Wow, I never looked, but I didn't know they had cheat devices at GameStop!

I got burnt out on Pokemon. A lot of folks I hang out with online are really into the two latest versions, though. :-)

How did he break his PSP?? I'm soooo careful with mine!

Oh yeah, there are lots of cool games coming! :-)

They have some really cool things for the DS...the other thing he wanted was music and mini games. It's on one cartridge and allows you to transfer and watch/listen to mp3's and mpegs and then has all kinds of little games on it too.

I keep waiting for the Pokemon thing to blow over, but his obsession only gets stronger *sigh*

I am SO disgusted with the PSP in general. He is SO careful with his stuff, but has bad luck. He has 10 games...within 2 months half of them were unplayable b/c the cheap plastic casing broke. I called Sony and they told me I could purchase cheaper games and swap them out...ugh, whatever. He was walking through the hallway (we have hardwood floors) and there was water from Liam's bath on the floor in front of the bathroom. He slipped and fell and he actually gripped that thing as though his life depended upon it. His hand hit the ground and the force of it caused the LCD screen to become distorted. He REALLY wants a new one, but until they come out with a shock absorbing case (like the nerf armor for DS) he can forget it. You would think with how much they cost, they would be made better, but oh well. I may buy another one if they have them cheap on Black Friday sales...it's such a waste to have all those games and accessories and he did play it non-stop while he had it. I was impressed that he got so much for it on Ebay to be honest...at least he got some other stuff to make it all better, lol.

I have seen that nerf armor for the DS but thought it would feel weird on, while I am playing with it.

I'm glad he got something back for it. :-)

I bought quite a few movies for my PSP. I know it's dumb we already have various devices in the house to play DVDs, but it's an even *smaller* portable DVD player--just for one! :-P I am just always amazed at the clarity of the graphics and pictures on it. For surfing the Web, though, it's pretty sucky.

I haven't played a lot of games on it: mostly Hot Shots Golf (which I LOVE) and Loco Roco.
