See that mousie beading!

To find out what-all I've been doing lately, just go here in CM's Diary (starting with May 14th).

Very nice! I haven't heard of a protection bracelet before. How do they work, and do they have to be made of special stones?

Well, you can make anything protective. That's why people in the past wore amulets and still do. In this case, I was just feeling jittery about the dark (silly, huh?).

So today I made a matching necklace to go with the bracelet. You can see it in the same place that link goes to (since I changed photos).

I used primarily black, because that's a protective colour. The shiny, aurora borealis finish seems to me that it would reflect back to the sender anything sent "at" me: good or bad. "Eye" beads have traditionally been used to ward off "the evil eye". I was not concerned about that, but just that the eye beads can be watching out for me when I can't, and can also see on other planes of existence where I can't. And the silver sand dollar also serves as a pentacle (five points). Pentacles are protective. I also energized them in sacred circle at a good time of the month for things like this. :-)

Other stones that could be used for protection are hematite, obsidian, black tourmaline (which is usually too expensive for me!), etc. I didn't use any of those because I don't like heavy jewelry. Hematite is especially heavy! Research online can help you find out the metaphysical properties of various stones. I have read quite a bit on this and have various books too, and often you can come up with conflicting information; so you have to go with what feels right for you. :-)
