We're only having local elections in my city.

We are too, plus state issues. But it's all important!

I know the imnportance of voting and all, but my problem is that I just recently moved to my current city and I'm not sure *who* I should vote for. I don't have any idea who will best represent me and stand for the views I believe in. I will try to get more informed in the next four years before we have mayorial elections again!

The League of Women Voters puts out a flyer/newspaper that is distributed to all the public libraries (and post offices?) nationwide (as far as I know, nationwide). We always get a copy so we know more about the candidates and issues. LWV is non-partisan.

To find out who your particular party endorses, check online for the local branch of the party.

We're voting on that very thing here in Ohio today. I want mail-in ballots for EVERYONE!

And yay that you voted! :-)

Grrrr. Those bad people with too much money to spend ran negative ads against the early voting thing (along with other useful anti-corruption changes). I guess people actually paid attention to that claptrap. Anyway, it didn't pass. We still don't get mail-in voting. :-(

Um...there are usually *some* local issues being voted on just about everywhere in non-presidential-election years. City council? Issues to vote on? Judges? Etc.?

Well, I am not sure, but I think the League of Women Voters' flyer is put in *all* public libraries. And each late October, you could phone your local board of elections (in our case it's the county), to see when voting is and what is on the ballot.
