Whooeee, hot out!

Well, as they say, it's not the heat (although it's now 90oF.!), it's the humidity! Very hazy out too.

I had to make an emergency yarn run, so we went to Joann's (nothing! still so very under-stocked!) and Michael's (right next door) just before noon. I know, I know, it would've been better to go in the evening. But Cat'r has a cold, and I thought he would probably want to get whatever over with, then have the rest of the day and evening to rest/sleep.

My grandmother used to say, when it was terrible hot like this, "I wish we'd have the BIGGEST thunderstorm!". She thought the bigger the storm, the cooler and drier the weather would be. Well, she and probably most people, back in the 50s and earlier, didn't know that the storms themselves don't bring the cooler air--that they are what comes before the cool/cold front because of the clash of the air masses.

Yarn: I needed some white Bernat Cottentots for a hat I want to make for the 4th of July. :-P I have a red skirt and a blue top; so I thought, "What do I have that's white to go with them?" I briefly thought about a scarf or stole (too hot!), then decided on a hat. The one I am going to make is here (well, follow the link when you get there to the actual pattern); but I'll probably whip up a white Capulet Caplet too. :-D

Eep, did it? Are you-all okay?

We had storms, with the front coming through; but they were just many, ongoing, and "decorative" (at least for us), not scary. You find other things to do other than the computer then. :-P
